9. Third-party links
7. Hosting and Content Delivery Networks (CDN) – External hosting
This website is hosted by an external service provider (host). The personal data collected on this website is stored on the host’s servers. This may primarily involve IP addresses, contact requests, meta and communication data, contract data, contact data, names, website accesses and other data generated via a website. The host is used for the purpose of fulfilling our contract with our potential and existing customers (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and in the interest of the secure, fast and efficient provision of our online offering by a professional provider (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Our host will process your data only to the extent necessary to fulfil its performance obligations and will follow our instructions regarding this data. Conclusion of a data-processing agreement: to ensure data-protection-compliant processing, we have concluded a data-processing agreement with our host.
8. Notice on data transfer to the USA
Among other things, tools from companies based in the USA are embedded on our website. When these tools are active, your personal data may be transferred to the respective companies’ US servers. We point out that the USA is not a safe third country within the meaning of EU data-protection law. US companies are obliged to hand over personal data to security authorities without you, as the data subject, being able to take legal action against this. It therefore cannot be ruled out that US authorities (e.g. intelligence services) process, evaluate and permanently store your data held on US servers for surveillance purposes.
We have no influence over these processing activities.
9. SSL/TLS encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or enquiries you send to us as the site operator, this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the browser’s address bar changing from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser bar. When SSL/TLS encryption is enabled, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
10. Cookies
Our websites use so-called “cookies”. Cookies are small text files and do no harm to your device. They are stored on your device either temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (permanent cookies). Session cookies are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Permanent cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them yourself or your web browser deletes them automatically. In some cases, cookies from third-party companies may also be stored on your device when you enter our site (third-party cookies). These enable us or you to use certain services of the third-party company (e.g. cookies for processing payment services). Cookies have various functions. Numerous cookies are technically necessary, since certain website functions would not work without them (e.g. the shopping-cart function or the display of videos). Other cookies serve to evaluate user behaviour or to display advertising. Cookies that are required to carry out the electronic communication process (necessary cookies), to provide certain functions you have requested (functional cookies, e.g. for the shopping-cart function), or to optimise the website (e.g. cookies to measure the web audience) are stored on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, unless another legal basis is specified. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing cookies for the technically error-free and optimised provision of its services. Where consent to store cookies has been requested, the relevant cookies are stored exclusively on the basis of this consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); consent can be withdrawn at any time. You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and allow cookies only in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general, and enable the automatic deletion of cookies when the browser is closed. If cookies are disabled, the functionality of this website may be limited. Insofar as cookies are used by third-party companies or for analytics purposes, we will inform you separately about this within this privacy policy and obtain consent where appropriate.

12. Server log files
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:
Browser type and browser version
operating system used
Referrer URL
host name of the accessing computer
time of the server request
IP address
This data is not merged with other data sources. It is collected on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of its website — for this, the server log files must be collected.
13. Contact form
If you send us enquiries via the contact form, your details from the enquiry form, including the contact data you provide there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not share this data without your consent.
This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, where your enquiry relates to the performance of a contract or is necessary to carry out pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective handling of enquiries addressed to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), where this has been requested.
The data you enter in the contact form remains with us until you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent to storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after your enquiry has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions — in particular retention periods — remain unaffected.
14. Enquiry by email or telephone
If you contact us by email or telephone, your enquiry, including all personal data arising from it (name, enquiry), will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your request. The data you send us via contact enquiries remains with us until you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent to storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after your request has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions — in particular statutory retention periods — remain unaffected.
15. Plugins
The CustomersX website is based on numerous plugins, which also change from time to time. CustomersX cannot control how these plugins work or what they do. CustomersX guarantees that no individual data is passed on to the plugin operators, so that only the creation of anonymous user profiles by these partners is possible.
16. Browser plugin
You can prevent the collection and processing of your data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.
You can find more information on how user data is handled by Google Analytics in Google’s privacy policy:
https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.
We have concluded a data-processing agreement with Google and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data-protection authorities when using Google Analytics. Data stored at Google at user and event level that is linked to cookies, user identifiers (e.g. user ID) or advertising IDs (e.g. DoubleClick cookies, Android advertising ID) is anonymised or deleted after 14 months. You can find details at the following link:
https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/7667196?hl=de
17. Google Web Fonts
To display fonts consistently, this page uses so-called web fonts provided by Google. When you call up a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into its browser cache in order to display text and fonts correctly. For this purpose, the browser you use must connect to Google’s servers. This gives Google knowledge that this website has been accessed via your IP address. Google Web Fonts are used on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the uniform presentation of the typeface on its website. Where corresponding consent has been requested (e.g. consent to store cookies), processing takes place exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; consent can be withdrawn at any time. If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font is used by your computer. You can find more information on Google Web Fonts at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google’s privacy policy:
https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de.
18. Google reCAPTCHA
We use “Google reCAPTCHA” (hereinafter “reCAPTCHA”) on this website. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. reCAPTCHA is intended to check whether data entry on this website (e.g. in a contact form) is performed by a human or by an automated program. To do this, reCAPTCHA analyses the website visitor’s behaviour based on various characteristics. This analysis begins automatically as soon as the website visitor enters the website. For the analysis, reCAPTCHA evaluates various information (e.g. IP address, the website visitor’s time on the site, or mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis is forwarded to Google.
The reCAPTCHA analyses run entirely in the background.
Website visitors are not informed that an analysis is taking place.
The storage and analysis of the data takes place on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its web offerings against abusive automated spying and against spam. Where corresponding consent has been requested, processing takes place exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; consent can be withdrawn at any time.
For more information on Google reCAPTCHA, please refer to the Google privacy policy and the Google terms of use at the following links:
https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de
and
https://policies.google.com/terms?hl=de.
19. E-commerce and payment providers
We collect, process and use personal data only to the extent necessary to establish, shape the content of, or change the legal relationship (inventory data). This takes place on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, which permits the processing of data to fulfil a contract or pre-contractual measures. We collect, process and use personal data about the use of this website (usage data) only to the extent necessary to enable the user to use the service or to bill for it. The collected customer data is deleted after completion of the order or termination of the business relationship. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.
20. Web tracking / cookies
CustomersX protects the privacy of your customers and website visitors. We use Google Analytics and Zoho PageSense to improve our website. However, we do not create individual user profiles of our website visitors. When you enter the website, in addition to Google, only temporary cookies (small text files stored when you visit the website) are used to enable navigation (e.g. language selection). These so-called session cookies contain no personal data and expire after your visit to the website. You can partially or fully disable cookies in your browser settings at any time. If cookies are disabled, numerous functions of the website will no longer be accessible to you.
21. CRM system / cookies
CustomersX protects the privacy of your customers. We use Zoho One (CRM, marketing automation, Forms, PageSense, SalesIQ, Desk, Survey) to improve our website and to deepen the relationship with our customers. Zoho One creates a cookie in your browser for a period of no more than one year, so that we can better understand our customers’ interests and improve interaction. This data is stored in a secured system and not passed on to third parties. These cookies are created only for CustomersX customers managed in Zoho One. Visitors to the website with no relationship to CustomersX are not affected by this cookie. If cookies are disabled, numerous functions of the website will no longer be accessible to you.
22. Google Analytics
On this website, the controller has integrated the Google Analytics component (with anonymisation function). Google Analytics is a web analytics service. Web analytics is the collection, gathering and evaluation of data about the behaviour of visitors to websites. A web analytics service records, among other things, data about which website a data subject came from (so-called referrers), which subpages of the website were accessed, or how often and for how long a subpage was viewed. Web analytics is used predominantly to optimise a website and for the cost-benefit analysis of internet advertising. The operating company of the Google Analytics component is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. For web analytics via Google Analytics, the controller uses the addition “_gat._anonymizeIp”. By means of this addition, the IP address of the data subject’s internet connection is shortened and anonymised by Google when our websites are accessed from a member state of the European Union or from another contracting state of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transferred to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. The purpose of the Google Analytics component is to analyse visitor flows on our website. Google uses the data and information obtained, among other things, to evaluate the use of our website, to compile online reports for us showing the activities on our websites, and to provide further services related to the use of our website. Google Analytics places a cookie on the data subject’s information-technology system. What cookies are has already been explained above. By setting the cookie, Google is enabled to analyse the use of our website. Each time one of the individual pages of this website — operated by the controller and on which a Google Analytics component has been integrated — is called up, the internet browser on the data subject’s information-technology system is automatically prompted by the respective Google Analytics component to transmit data to Google for the purpose of online analysis. In the course of this technical procedure, Google obtains knowledge of personal data, such as the data subject’s IP address, which serves Google, among other things, to trace the origin of visitors and clicks and subsequently to enable commission settlements. By means of the cookie, personal information — for example the access time, the location from which an access originated, and the frequency of visits to our website by the data subject — is stored. Each time our websites are visited, this personal data, including the IP address of the internet connection used by the data subject, is transferred to Google in the United States of America. This personal data is stored by Google in the United States of America. Google may pass on this personal data collected via the technical procedure to third parties. As already described above, the data subject can prevent the setting of cookies by our website at any time by means of a corresponding setting of the internet browser used, and thus permanently object to the setting of cookies. Such a setting of the internet browser used would also prevent Google from setting a cookie on the data subject’s information-technology system. In addition, a cookie already set by Google Analytics can be deleted at any time via the internet browser or other software programs. Furthermore, the data subject has the option of objecting to and preventing the collection of the data generated by Google Analytics relating to the use of this website, as well as the processing of this data by Google. To do so, the data subject must download and install a browser add-on at the link http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de. This browser add-on tells Google Analytics via JavaScript that no data and information about visits to websites may be transmitted to Google Analytics. The installation of the browser add-on is regarded by Google as an objection. If the data subject’s information-technology system is later deleted, formatted or reinstalled, the data subject must reinstall the browser add-on in order to deactivate Google Analytics. If the browser add-on is uninstalled or deactivated by the data subject or by another person within their sphere of control, it is possible to reinstall or reactivate the browser add-on. Further information and the applicable data-protection provisions of Google can be accessed at https://policies.google.com/privacy/update?hl=de&gl=de/ and at http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html. Google Analytics is explained in more detail at this link https://www.google.com/intl/de_de/analytics/.
23. LinkedIn
On this website, the controller has integrated components of LinkedIn Corporation. LinkedIn is an internet-based social network that enables users to connect with existing business contacts and to make new business contacts. The operating company of LinkedIn is LinkedIn Corporation, 2029 Stierlin Court, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. For data-protection matters outside the USA, LinkedIn Ireland, Privacy Policy Issues, Wilton Plaza, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland, is responsible. Each time our website — equipped with a LinkedIn component (LinkedIn plug-in) — is accessed, this component causes the browser used by the data subject to download a corresponding representation of the LinkedIn component. Further information on the LinkedIn plug-ins can be found at https://developer.linkedin.com/plugins. In the course of this technical procedure, LinkedIn obtains knowledge of which specific subpage of our website is visited by the data subject. If the data subject is logged in to LinkedIn at the same time, LinkedIn recognises, with each access to our website by the data subject and for the entire duration of the respective stay on our website, which specific subpage of our website the data subject visits. This information is collected by the LinkedIn component and assigned by LinkedIn to the respective LinkedIn account of the data subject. If the data subject activates a LinkedIn button integrated on our website, LinkedIn assigns this information to the personal LinkedIn user account of the data subject and stores this personal data. LinkedIn always receives information via the LinkedIn component that the data subject has visited our website whenever the data subject is logged in to LinkedIn at the time of accessing our website; this takes place regardless of whether the data subject clicks the LinkedIn component or not. If the data subject does not want this information transmitted to LinkedIn, they can prevent the transmission by logging out of their LinkedIn account before accessing our website. At https://www.linkedin.com/psettings/guest-controls, LinkedIn offers the option to unsubscribe from email messages, SMS messages and targeted ads, and to manage ad settings. LinkedIn also uses partners such as Quantcast, Google Analytics, BlueKai, DoubleClick, Nielsen, Comscore, Eloqua and Lotame, which may set cookies. Such cookies can be rejected at https://www.linkedin.com/legal/cookie-policy. The applicable data-protection provisions of LinkedIn can be accessed at https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy. LinkedIn’s cookie policy can be accessed at https://www.linkedin.com/legal/cookie-policy.
24. Hosting / hosting provider
This website is hosted by Metanet AG, Zurich, on Swiss servers and optimised for speed by Cloudflare. The following data is stored in so-called log files on each website visit: browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, host name of the accessing device (IP address), date and time of access, file name, data volume, and confirmation of successful access. This data is used exclusively for statistical purposes and for troubleshooting.
25. Your contact details on newsletter sign-up / No advertising
The use of your contact details for advertising is excluded. CustomersX undertakes not to use your data commercially. You will receive our newsletter after signing up and can unsubscribe again at any time.
26. Links to other websites
